Marcus Peters, the defensive back of Kansas City Chiefs and national anthem protester, created a painful series of events for the Chiefs that the team give up its slim lead and lose its fourth straight game and its sixth of its last eight.
The Chiefs stopped the New York Jets on third down to set up a field goal of 3-yard line. Chiefs defensive lineman Bennie Logan got a flag for avoidable roughness, giving the Jets a fresh set of downs.
Jets ended up scoring on the fresh set of downs and pushed the lead to seven points.
Chiefs defensive back Steven Nelson was called for holding, which gave the Jets another shot.
That was the moment that infuriated Marcus Peters.

Peters took the referee’s penalty flag and threw it into the stands, which earned him a penal. But one of Jets fans ended up with a souvenir almost nobody has.

The fans saw Peters walking off the field assuming he had been expelled for his behavior.
But as it turns out, Peters had a huge outburst and walked out on his team.
NFL says Marcus Peters was not ejected from the game officially. He left game after tossing a penalty flag into the crowd. Walked right out

Peter, one of the best defensive backs in the NFL, just left his team in a one-touchdown game because he was mad about a penalty flag.
Peter received a lot of negative attention this season after the breakout year in 2016.
First, he was one of the first players who protested the anthem by opting to sit during the anthem before the game against the Patriots. And he continued the protests throughout the year
He was also involved in the incident with Oakland offensive linemen this season after his hit on quarterback Derek Carr brought a 15-yard penalty. Marshawn Lynch of the Raiders ran onto the field and pushed an official, which gave him suspension and ejection.
Kansas City Chiefs also have fallen down, from being the early Super Bowl favorites to a team who might not even make the playoffs.
