Friday, Fox News personality John Roberts exposed the identity of the official who allegedly said to Michael Flynn contact the Russians about the sanctions enforced on Russia by U.S.
In the court documents filed Friday, special counsel Mueller mentioned to a “senior” official on then-President-elect Trump’s transition team. On Dec. 29, 2016, Flynn talked to that official to decide what to tell then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak regarding the sanctions.
Roberts said the official was K.T. McFarland, the former deputy national security adviser, who is waiting to be approved by Senate as the ambassador to Singapore.
Roberts quoted “a source with intimate and full knowledge of the investigation” who he said was “very, very knowledgeable.”
Fox News host Shepard Smith noted that McFarland is someone that many people will know who she is, and not just for her role in the Trump administration.
“K.T. McFarland was to work for the administration and did for a short time. She’s a former Fox News contributor that viewers may recognize here,” he stated.
Roberts’ report was confirmed by The Associated Press, which quoted “two former officials on President Donald Trump’s transition team” have spoken to Flynn on Dec. 19, and one of them is confirmed to be McFarland as Mueller referred to her in his files.
Furthermore, the AP identified the “very senior transition official” that Mueller claims met with Flynn on Dec. 22 and told him to call Russian about the U.N. decisions on Israeli settlements.
AP identified the official as Jared Kushner, a senior White House adviser.
Flynn admitted Friday to “willfully and knowingly” making “false, fictitious and fraudulent statements” concerning the conversations he had with Kislyak.
Flynn stated that the “guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel’s Office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions.”
Meanwhile, White House lawyer Ty Cobb said that Flynn pleading guilty does not affect the president.
“The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in (Flynn’s) resignation in February of this year,” Cobb stated. “Nothing about the guilty plea or the charge implicates anyone other than Mr. Flynn.”

“The concussion of this phase of the Special Counsel’s work demonstrates again that the Special Counsel is moving with all deliberate speed and clears the way for a prompt and reasonable conclusion.”
